WGO Publishes new Diet and the Gut Guideline

Dear WGO Member Societies,

As you may have read in the e-Alert sent out last month, WGO is pleased to announce the publication of the new “Diet and the Gut” guideline.  This new Guideline, chaired by Prof. Govind Makharia of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Gastroenterology & Human Nutrition in New Delhi, India and Prof. Peter Gibson of the Department of Gastroenterology at Monash University and Alfred Health in Melbourne, Australia, was produced in connection with the World Digestive Health Day (WDHD) held in 2016 on the theme of “Diet and the Gut.”  The Guideline is posted here: http://www.worldgastroenterology.org/guidelines/global-guidelines/diet-and-the-gut.

It is intended for use by health providers, including family-care and primary-care physicians, gastroenterologists, pharmacists, and nutritionists/dietitians around the world. As such, we think that your society members will be interested in reading and using the new Guideline.  We encourage your society to consider alerting your members about the Guideline through emails, your website and newsletters.  WGO is also promoting the Guideline through our social media platforms, so please feel free to retweet our Twitter posts and “like” our posts on Facebook (http://www.worldgastroenterology.org/about-wgo/media-center/social-media).
